Gilbert and Sullivan's The Mikado at Foote in the Door Productions

ABOUT THIS EVENT

Gilbert and Sullivan's The Mikado A New Adaptation by R.A. Shiomi Get ready for a delightfully topsy-turvy adventure of mistaken identities, outrageous romance, political absurdity, and unforgettable music! Foote in the Door Productions presents Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Mikado in a bold new adaptation by R.A. Shiomi, bringing this beloved comic operetta into a fresh and playful new light in Edwardian England.   Set against a world where love, law, ambition, and bureaucracy collide, The Mikado follows a wonderfully tangled cast of characters as they scheme, deceive, fall in love, and desperately try to avoid the consequences of their own decisions. With witty wordplay, larger-than-life personalities, and Gilbert and Sullivan’s brilliantly memorable score, this is comic theatre at its most exuberant. R.A. Shiomi’s new adaptation reimagines the classic for today’s audiences while celebrating the wit, theatricality, and musical brilliance that have made The Mikado a perennial favourite. 🎭 Foote in the Door Productions📅 November 13–22, 2026📍Théâtre Servus Credit Union at La Cité Francophone, Edmonton Whether you're a lifelong Gilbert and Sullivan fan or discovering The Mikado for the first time, this fresh Edmonton production promises an evening of laughter, music, mischief, and theatrical fun.
