ABOUT THIS EVENT

Jeff Meleras and the Bokonons are very psyched to announce that they will be back at the Red Bird on Nov 27 for the third launch of their fourth album, "Desert Songs", at this iconic venue.  This will be the official Ottawa Vinyl launch.  The Bokonons have also been hard at work on albums 5 and 6 which are almost complete and should see the light of day in early 2027.  We will be showcasing a few of those new tunes as well as some old favourites as well.  The Bokonons are an Ottawa based Americana style band formed in the summer of 2021. The band is comprised of songwriter/guitarist Jeff Meleras, producer, engineer, and multi instrumentalist Dave Draves, the legendary punk, folk and rock veteran multi instrumentalist Chris Page, he himself one of the finest songwriters around,  the Toronto import and guitar wiz Mike Zikovitz, and Piet Masone, whose magical harmonies and vocal gymnastics are like no other. They will be joined by honorary Bokonons, our friends, and two of Ottawa's finest musicians, Jon Hynes on bass, and Jake Bryce on the skins.  The Bokonons sing about human folly, regret, alien visitation, societal division, loss and longing, and the pending apocalypsewith just a small smattering of tentative hope sprinkled in for good measure.   The Bokonons are very pleased as well to announce that Jacob Meleras, in an attempt to upstage his father, will be getting things going with an opening set.
