ABOUT THIS EVENT

Let Maggie’s Wake lead you into the heart of the season with their Spirit of the Season Concert. Featuring songs from their Holiday EP, Close to Home, the show trades tinsel for togetherness and celebrates the flicker of frost in the quiet corners of winter. Folks will be treated to Christmas classics and original favourites such as the title track’s anticipation of returning to people and places that mean the most, and the timeless First Noel where warmth and love all find their place. They have a Nick Lowe-inspired tune, Christmas Is Coming (For You) that twirls with folk-pop sparkle, urging us to move beyond commercial clatter to rediscover true joy beyond the din. And in their stirring take of Gordon Lightfoot’s Song for a Winter’s Night, Maggie’s Wake captures the sweet ache and longing, carrying heart and melody in equal measure. The true Spirit of the Season comes alive onstage—an evening of music that feels like stepping in from the cold and finding the world, for a moment, close to home.
